how do i get rust marks out of my toilet?

(Glenview Il. )

i've tried everything short of a jackhammer to remove these marks. is there an easy way to get them removed? thanks for any help you can offer.

here is your answer: most rust stains come from a water system that is high in iron. usually a well water system. 1. take a cup of cream of tarter and add enough hydrogen peroxide to make a paste. place on the rust stains and let stand for an hour or more. rinse off and they should be gone if not repeat the process and let it stand overnight. that should do the trick. if not. 2. take wet/ dry sand paper and a pumice stone. just go over the affected area until the stain has disappeared. best of luck to you.

I use vinegar in bottle with a spray top to touch up the stove top. It takes off the grease spots. What do you think of this or advise better. Thank you.

Grease on Stovetop

hello Elizabeth and thank you for your question. yes vinegar does work. But sometimes we need a little extra help. Try this: fill a container with water and bring to a boil. using a measuring cup, pour the water over the top of the stove and let stand for 3-5 minutes. then using your micro cloth, add some liquid detergent and go over the top of the stove, removing the grease. wipe it up and rinse it down with more hot water. it should look brand new when you are finished. If you nee to use some cleanser, make sure it is not abrasive. you can make your own, by taking two parts borax and one part baking soda, it's a very fine mix and will not scratch your top.
best of luck Richard
